Come along and make the most of our best local food and drink, and learn something at the same time!

A monthly series of quick lessons, great company, pizza and beer (or wine, if you rather). 

Each session includes:

All you can eat Buster's Woodfired pizza and snacks

Parrotdog beer, wine and non-alcoholic drinks

A lesson or chance to progress your knitting in some way


Every session runs 7pm - 9pm on a Wednesday evening, at the shop:

Upstairs, 68-84 Kingsford Smith Street, Lyall Bay


Cancellations accepted and full refunds offered up to one week ahead of the scheduled session, after that no refund will be offered. However you may pass on your spot for the same value (or gift it!) if you are unable to make it. Multi passes are available, and we will be in touch to confirm which sessions you wish to attend. Numbers are strictly limited so you must book in order to attend.

Dietary requirements: we will be able to cater for vegetarian, if you are low FODMAP, vegan or GF get in touch and we'll see what we can arrange to make sure you are fed!


13 February:

Get Measured! We will measure you in a safe environment with absolutely no judgement whatsoever. Bring along a gauge swatch, a pattern you'd like to make and we will work through sizing and tips to help get the right fit. (homework required, new-ish knitter friendly)

13 March: 

Magic Loop - Learn how to work small circumferences in the round using the magic loop method. Perfect for socks, hats, sleeves and gloves. (materials will be advised, must be able to knit and purl with confidence)

10 April:

Magic ring (crochet) - Magic ring is a great technique for starting off crochet projects in the round. We'll make a few flowers once you've got the hang of it. (materials will be advised, must be able to crochet a chain, double and treble).

8 May:

Buttons & ends - bring along your button-less projects, those FOs with ends waving free, and we'll work together to get them finished up. I'll teach you my tips and tricks for great button attaching. (bring your own projects)

12 June:

Simpe Cables - Learn the not-so-secret mysteries of cables - they're easier than you think! (materials will be advised, must be able to knit and purl with confidence)

10 July:

Frogging! Bring along a project that's been in the naughty corner, or a finished item you no longer love. Let's rip them all out together and learn how to make the yarn useful again. (bring your own projects, beginner knitters welcome)
