Falling Stitches
Last week it was very very exciting to have confirmation of a new pattern range - that of Falling Stitches, a blog that I absolutely adore.
Even better, we are the first retailer to be stocking them, anywhere! How excellent is that?
If you keep an eye on this blog and the Knitsch blog, you know how much I love Emilien...
But Villeray is stunning ...
And we do like Claire Bennet...
And now you can buy these patterns, and more, from the shop! Hooray!
Knit Night - enjoy Easter!
Seeing as it's Easter, and we're assuming lots of you will be off on holidays, there won't be a knit night at the shop this week.
It will be back to normal fun next week :D
Our hours over Easter are:
Thursday - 10am - 6pm
Friday - CLOSED
Saturday - 10am - 4pm with the lovely Matt of Wabi Sabi Fibres
Sunday, Monday Tuesday CLOSED
aaaand after that we'll be open every single day to satisfy your knitting needs. Hooray!
Would you like to work at Holland Road?
Right, it's time we bit the bullet!
We need help! And not just any kind of help, super special help.
Would you like to work at Holland Road?
The specifics of the job are:
- Strong knowledge of knitting and/or crochet
- Excellent customer service skills
- Confidence handling cash, using eftpos and opening/closing a shop
- Knowledge of Ravelry, and confidence with computers and the internet
- Flexible availability
- A commitment to learning about new yarns, products and techniques
Ideally we need someone available from 10 - 3pm (or thereabouts - this is flexible) twice a week, plus extra days when required - for example, the odd Saturday or Sunday.
Winter is a very busy time for us and at this stage these extra days will need to be covered (not necessarily by the one person, but to give an idea):
- May 14, 15, 16 & 17
- Queen's Birthday weekend
- Shared days from 11 - 27 July
- 5 - 7 August
- 26 - 30 August (Knit August Nights weekend)
If you think you might fit the criteria, and are keen to work in a fun environment surrounded by yarn, email tash@knitschyarns.co.nz by Tuesday 26 April. Training will be provided and an anticipated start date will be the week of 2 May.
Pretty for a Wednesday
